Today, Cusco doesn't celebrate the past. It lives it.
Every June 24th, thousands gather above the city at Sacsayhuamán for Inti Raymi — the Festival of the Sun. It marks the winter solstice and the Inca New Year, a ceremony of gratitude to Inti, the sun god, that once united an entire empire. For one day, the Quechua language, the gold, the color, and the music fill these ancient stone streets exactly as they did 500 years ago.
This isn't a show put on for tourists. It's living heritage — carried by the descendants of the people who built these walls. Our guides grew up with these traditions. To us, this is family.
