When was your last trip? Your last adventure? The last time you stepped out of your home country?
I started traveling in August of 2020 and then never really stopped after that.
My belief is that the world is such a beautiful place and experiencing new cultures helps me grow as an individual and travel helps me appreciate the love that I already have in my life, even more, now!
After having been to 16 countries, I tried to get some friends to travel with me but everyone had a list of excuses ranging from "Now isn't the right time" to "I can't get off those days from work" and so many more reasons that won't matter in 10 years.
I've realized that 10 years from now, it won't matter how much money I spent, it won't matter that I had to call out of work, it won't matter that I "waited till I was ready to travel."
You know what will matter? The fact that I TOOK THE TRIP. The memories will be much greater, the experiences, the culture I would have experienced.
Life is short, at longest, and I noticed that if I didn't stop and slow down every once in a while, it would breeze past me before I knew it. My heart lies in traveling, it allows me to be free and that inturn helps me perform better professionally.
At this moment, on this horse, I only had one thought to myself: "I am so glad I started traveling."
When I started my journey I was scared, I didn't know the language, I didn't know the cultures, I didn't know the people or the ways of living in a new country: but I figured it out!
To the person reading this who has wanted to travel but hasn't taken that first step to step out of your comfort zone and take that international trip, here's my advice to you: JUST DO IT!!
If you're the person in your friend group that has the itch to travel and nobody is coming with you then this post is for you. This is for the one person who knows that they need to experience more of life and there has to be more to life than just working to pay the mortgage.
