Vinicunca is the original — 17,060 ft, the steepest climb, and the one behind every viral photo. Palccoyo sits lower and flatter, trading one dramatic ridge for three colorful hills and a fraction of the crowds. Pallay Punchu is the newest of the three, discovered around 2020, with sharper ridges and more saturated colors than the other two — but it's also the farthest drive from Cusco.

None of them is "better." They're just different trips. 🏔️

The Inca Empire lasted about 100 years. But Peru's history goes back 5,000 — Caral, as old as Egypt's pyramids. Chavín, a religious empire built without a single soldier. Nazca, Moche, Wari, Chimú — each one leaving behind cities, gold, textiles, and lines in the desert still standing today.😱

The Incas didn't build Peru's history. They inherited it.

Ollantaytambo held. Water, terrain, and a rebel emperor turned back Hernando Pizarro's army in January 1537 — the only major battlefield loss the Spanish suffered in the entire conquest.🙌

You can still walk the same streets today. 🤩
