The Sacred Valley + Machu Picchu 2-Day Tour offers a comprehensive introduction to the cultural, historical, and archaeological highlights of the Cusco region, culminating in a guided visit to Machu Picchu.
Day 1 – Sacred Valley Exploration
The journey begins in Chinchero, a traditional Andean town renowned for its ancestral textile techniques and living cultural heritage. The tour then continues to Moray, an archaeological site featuring circular agricultural terraces believed to have been used by the Incas for agricultural experimentation.
Next, visitors explore the Maras Salt Mines, a vast network of salt pools that has been used since pre-Inca times and remains active today. The route proceeds to Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca towns, known for its original urban layout, stone streets, and monumental fortress.
In the evening, travelers board a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, following the scenic corridor of the Urubamba River.
