The Warari Caves (also known as Grutas de Warari) are an impressive and mystical underground cave system located 2 kilometers from the town of Livitaca, in the Chumbivilcas province of the Cusco region, Peru. Situated at an altitude between 3,450 and 3,910 meters above sea level, they are famous for their massive geological formations of stalactites and stalagmites. The name comes from the Quechua word Waqariy, which means "to cry," referring to the constant dripping of calcium carbonate-rich water that mimics tears and shapes the unique rock structures.
