Why is Cusco so cold right now?

Cusco is currently experiencing its coldest season of the year. During June and July, days are usually sunny and pleasant, while nights can be extremely cold due to the city’s high altitude of 3,399 meters (11,152 ft).

🌞 Daytime: 16 C–19 C (57°F–64°F)
🌅 Afternoon: 8°C–12°C (46°F–54°F)
🌙 Nighttime: 0°C–4°C (32°F–39°F), and sometimes below freezing in higher areas.

Why is it so cold?

✔️ Cusco’s high elevation causes temperatures to drop quickly after sunset.
