Birding target species with hard core birders, what a lovely monotypic Buff-throated Tody-Tyrant (Hemitriccus rufigularis) Tirano-Todi de Garganta Anteada. Rare and local in middle growth and subcanopy of lower montane forest on east slope of Andes. Found singly or in pairs; usually not with flocks!!!

Happy to announce with two months old Harpy Eagle, the most enigmatic and powerful raptors from the neotropics.
Harpy Eagles are perch hunters in the upper and middle canopies of the rainforest prey on large mammals, especially sloths and monkeys, as well as large birds, lizards, and snakes, which they attack by a stoop from a perch!!!
This astonishing nest is protected in a private land, along the lower Manu road at 541 m / 1774 ft

What a stunning highlight birding the northern Peru with one of the world’s smallest bird, the Little Woodstar (Chaetocercus bombus) Estrellita Chica 6 - 6.5 cm. This beauty is more likely to be confused with bumblebees than another hummingbird!!! Photographed at Refugio del colibrí espátula garden. 1751 m / 5875 ft!!!
