We birded Manu road with 490 bird species seen, including 56 hummingbirds species. One of the highlights is this beauty Rufous-crested Coquette (Lophornis delattrei) Coqueta de Cresta Rufa. Photographed at Manu Endemic Reserve!!!

Birding northern Peru with amazing target species like this peruvian endemic White-masked Antbird (Pithys castaneus) Hormiguero de Mascara Blanca. Always with ant swarms at the front. White-masked Antbird feed on anything from insects to small lizards scared up by the oncoming ant swarms!!!

Restricted in arid montane scrub with terrestrial bromeliads and large cacti in nw. Peru. Least Concern and endemic from northern Peru, the Gray-winged Inca-Finch (Incaspiza ortizi) Fringilo-Inca de Ala Gris. Photographed at upper Marañon valley, just next to the main road!!!

Birding the amazonian lowlands in the southern Peru with this amazing Western Striolated-Puffbird (Nystalus obamai) Buco Estriado Occidental. Named after Barack H. Obama the 44th President of the United States of America, in recognition of this support for moving away from a carbon based energy policy. This beautiful puffbird was photographed in Manu Birding Lodge!!!

Birding target species along the oxbow lake in the amazon basin with this lovely Sunbittern (Eurypyga helias) Tigana. Sunbitterns stalks its prey, cosisting of small riparian life, crustaceans and minnows!!!

What a blessed morning with Red-and-green Macaws, Blue-headed Parrots, Orange-cheeked Parrots and Mealy Amazons (Amazona farinosa) Loro Harinoso, visiting the Clay Licks every morning. Riverside mud cliffs with abnormally high salt content attract hundreds of parrots and macaws who nibble on the clay to obtein essential minerals.

With 7 sspp in South America the Blue-necked Tanager (Stilpnia cyanicollis) Tangara de Cuello Azul. This beautiful tanager generally does not occur in continuous forest, and is rather frequent in gardens, it forages mainly for fruits!!!
