This is one of the most interesting species of the Peruvian coast, and it is often not easy to see them at such close range. On this occasion, we observed an adult feeding a fish to a juvenile. This is one of the species we look for along the Peruvian coast when our tours in Peru begin.

As is known, there are only a few mountain toucans, and if you have already been in Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia, you almost complete the entire collection. The only one missing is the mountain toucan that is most commonly found in Bolivia. This mountain toucan from Colombia has a darker iris color than the one from Peru, and of course it lives in the same type of habitat.
