One of the most secretive owls in the world—tiny, elusive, and endemic to the cloud forests of Northern Peru.
For years, I considered it nearly impossible to photograph it during guided tours… until now.
This time, patience, luck, and silence paid off.
A magical encounter with a ghost of the forest.

One of the largest and most colorful in the tanager family, I remember only a few places to photograph this bird in South America, one is in northern Peru, the other in a lower area of Guango lodge in Ecuador and this place in Anaime - Tolima which was not in our expectations because you were waiting to photograph yellow eared parrots.
