Soroche, also known as altitude sickness, refers to the symptoms experienced at high elevations above sea level. Destinations like Cusco, Peru’s top tourist city, sit over 3,000 meters high—and such altitude can trigger soroche.

In these situations, travelers who aren’t used to high altitudes might experience headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath, or nausea. But don’t worry—there are several ways to reduce or even prevent the effects. Check out these tips ⬇️
