Paracas, Peru is featured on this list! One of the lesser known gems.. a great addition to your itinerary especially to combine it with a visit to the Nazca lines and a buggy ride in the desert sand dunes (and spectacular sunsets)

Paracas is a small seaside town in the Ica region of Peru, where the desert meets the sea. A trip to the area isn’t complete without a boat ride to Islas Ballestas, the rocky islands off the Pacific coast known for their diverse wildlife including flocks of sea lions and crowds of baby penguins.
