🇵🇪 On July 28th, Peru celebrates Fiestas Patrias — tthe day it gained its independence from Spanish rule in 1821. It was on this day that General José de San Martín declared freedom in Lima, sparking hope and liberation across South America.

Today, Peru comes alive with colorful parades, traditional music, and dance that fill every street and village. The celebrations continue on July 29th, honoring the Armed Forces and National Police.

From the bustling streets of Lima to the serene Andean highlands, Independence Day is more than a national holiday — it's a reminder of the resilience, heritage, and rich culture that define the Peruvian identity.

Galápagos in July: A Spectacle of Nature and Wildlife 🐢🌊

July is one of the best months to experience the Galápagos Islands. The cooler, dry season brings nutrient-rich waters from the Humboldt Current, creating a thriving environment for both marine and land wildlife. It’s a magical time when many species are at their most active.

🐧 Galápagos Penguins – The only penguins found north of the equator are busy fishing along the rocky shores, making July a great month to spot them in action.
🐦 Blue‑footed Bo***es – These iconic birds begin their courtship dance, proudly showing off their bright blue feet.
🦭 Sea Lions – Playful pups can be spotted lounging on beaches or frolicking in the surf.
🐢 Giant Tortoises – In the highlands, these ancient giants roam slowly across lush landscapes, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a prehistoric era.
