Abiseo Aventura Paradise provides a perfect way to explore the jungles of Peru. The lodge is immediately next to The Rio Abiseo National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional del Río Abiseo) that is located in the San Martín department of Peru. UNESCO pronounced it as Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity (World Heritage Site) in 1990. The park is home to a large number of species of flora and fauna,
as well as the location of over 30 pre-Columbian archaeological sites. The park is the size of the US State of Rhode Island, and has only a handful of Park Rangers living in it. It is a World Heritage site for the flora and fauna in it: including a vast array of animals (including Andean bear, a large variety of monkeys, jaguar, etc.). We have established a non-government organization, which has a concession to manage 8600 acres of park and public forestland for conservation purposes. The only access is by water, the lodge sleeps 18, and activities are hiking through the jungle, kayaking, bird watching, animal watching, and identification of fauna, insect inspection, and swimming. The water is clean (our workers drink directly from it), swimming safaris are safe, but adventuresome, as are the hikes. The lodge is located on the Eastern lower slopes of the Andes (at about 500 meters). It is located on a tributary of the Amazon; the Abiseo River. Unlike the lower Amazon; it is in cloud forest, somewhat cooler and rainier. No mosquitoes, but plenty of insect and other life to observe. This is a trip for the adventuresome.
