July 1st to July 9th .... 2015. It was high .... it really was, except on the coast.

We had beautiful views of the Canyon, despite our headaches and our dizziness. After 45 minutes of seemingly useless waiting, the Condor appears and flies right by us up on the viewing hill. It was SO bright, it was tough to properly sharply focus on his face. I tired my best. A few others showed up, but were too high up.

It was freezing ... and the locals didn't seemed fazed by it at all. Then the ladies are trying to sell you EVERYTHING.

We said high to the valleys, the Llamas and Alpaccas, we said high to altitude sickenss, and said high to our lofty accommodation at Chivay. Boy the sun was bright that day.

It was pretty stunning seeing the nearby Andes. It took our breath away, but not literally. Not yet anyway.

Very colourful, very pretty. So i took a lot of pictures. Nice change from Ica and Nasca, but then the altitude kicked in.

The first 15 minutes were ok, the other 20 minutes I'm glad I had my camera. The banking and the temperature in the plane was a bit rough on me. Three bags full in the end. Good thing I was solo, and WAY in the back. All alone ...

It was an old convent, very pretty, very quiet, very animaly. Learned about the birds and the birds, if you know what I mean.

Desert, overcast, sand, dirt, election ads, rebar at the top of most buildings, and we arrive at Nasca.

We got to the Desert Oasis after dark, the Museum didn't allow pictures, and we spent too long at the Winery. At least Heidi got to buy her precious Pisco Sour bottle.
