anzó aún más su amor por la cerámica. En los años ochenta, migró definitivamente a Lima, movido por la situación de violencia interna de su natal Ayacucho. Estableció un taller de cerámicas en Chorrillos en el que formó como ceramistas a sus hermanos y a un grupo de paisanos, varios de los cuales son actualmente grandes empresarios y maestros reconocidos. Posteriormente se mudó a Lurín y estableció, dentro del barrio de los artesanos, uno de los talleres de cerámica de quinua más reconocido a nivel nacional: Ccori Maki. Además, desde hace 19 años, sus trabajos se exponen en el museo Huaca Pucllana de Miraflores, Lima. A través de los años ha desarrollado su propio estilo, reflejado principalmente en nacimientos con acabados de textura raspada y máscaras estilizadas con iconografías precolombina. Su gran destreza ha hecho posible que sea reconocido, en dos oportunidades, por “Su gran aporte a la promoción y difusión de nuestra Artesanía Peruana”, reconocimientos otorgado por la Municipalidad de Miraflores. Emiliano es un convencido que, en el Perú, la artesanía es un recurso turístico importante que permite valorar la cultura del país. Por ello, desde hace varios años, ha abierto las puertas de su taller para recibir a estudiantes y visitantes nacionales y extranjeros que estén ansiosos por conocer más sobre la cultura ayacuchana. Our story:
Emiliano Orellana was born in 1951, in the district of Quinua - Ayacucho. From the age of 5 years old he showed special interest in ceramics and, since then, he began to manufacture his first pieces of clay. His innate curiosity led him to visit artisan workshops in his town, an experience that further strengthened his love for ceramics. In the eighties, he finally migrated to Lima, moved by the situation of internal violence in his native Ayacucho. He established a ceramics workshop in Chorrillos, where he trained his brothers and a group of countrymen as potters, several of whom are currently big businessmen and recognized teachers. Later he moved to Lurín and established, within the artisan neighborhood, one of the most recognized ceramic workshops of quinoa nationwide: Ccori Maki. In addition, for 19 years, his works have been exhibited in the Huaca Pucllana museum in Miraflores, Lima. Through the years he has developed his own style, reflected mainly in births with scraped texture finishes and stylized masks with pre-Columbian iconographies. His great skill has made it possible for him to be recognized, on two occasions, for "His great contribution to the promotion and dissemination of our Peruvian Crafts", recognitions granted by the Municipality of Miraflores. Emiliano is convinced that, in Peru, craftsmanship is an important tourist resource that allows us to value the country's culture. For this reason, for several years, it has opened the doors of its workshop to welcome students and national and foreign visitors who are eager to learn more about the Ayacucho culture.
