Thanks to Belmond for the amazing journey, we had through the Andes aboard the Andean Explorer, South America’s first luxury sleeper train. We start this adventure in Arequipa with some beautiful typical dances at the antique train station. After boarding the train, they welcomed us with some drinks and a briefing about our trip. First stop was the ancient art of the Sumbay Caves, then we had an amazing lunch at the dining. After resting in our cabins, we had cocktails & canapes at the Piano bar and after that an amazing gourmet dinner arriving at Puno. Next day, we got up at 5:00 am to watch the sunrise over Lake Titicaca with some hot drinks and a bonfire, it was amazing and after that we had a great breakfast.
Then we visit Uros and Taquile Islands, where we learn from their communities, about their textile heritage & dances as the way the Uros local used to live and make their own artificial Island. Then we had a spectacular buffet lunch at the Collata Beach on Taquile Island with some nice activities like painting, giant yenga, etc… The next day, arriving in Cusco we stop at Raqchi Inca ruins and visit these amazing archeological sites with our guide and learn again about Peruvian culture and history.
