Day 1 at the Manu Bio Center 🌿
Today we kicked off our research journey deep in the Peruvian Amazon, scouting a unique educational experience for professors and students from TCU. Surrounded by heliconias, ferns, fruiting trees, and vibrant pollinator gardens, we were reminded of a fundamental truth: life in the rainforest depends on insects.
Every plant we encountered, from heliconias in dialogue with hummingbirds to intricate pollination systems, reveals a perfectly balanced ecosystem where insects, birds, and flora sustain the forest together. Without insects, there is no pollination. Without pollination, there are no fruits, no biodiversity, no life.
Guided by the most passionate biologists, this experience goes beyond science. It’s an invitation to see the rainforest as a deeply interconnected system where even the smallest creatures have the greatest impact.
