Golden light on Copacabana. Forested peaks dropping into the Atlantic. Samba spilling out of bars before the night has even started.

Rio is a city that lives entirely outdoors, on the sand, in the heat, at the edge of something wild.

We design journeys that move between worlds. Peru to Brazil is one of our favorites.

Corpus Christi arrives in Cusco this week.

On Wednesday, the city begins to stir. Fifteen saints and virgins leave their parish churches and make their way toward the Cathedral on the Plaza de Armas, each carried on an ornate platform, accompanied by brass bands, fireworks, and the communities who have tended these images for generations.

By Thursday, the whole city is there.

What makes Cusco's version of this Catholic feast so compelling is what lies beneath it.

When the Spanish arrived, they found a city already built around procession. The Inca had long paraded the mummies of their emperors through these same streets.

In 1572, a viceroy ordered that Catholic saints replace them. The form survived; the meaning doubled.

Marisol is in the city this week, watching it unfold firsthand.

If you're curious about what Corpus Christi looks like on the ground, or how to time a visit around Cusco's extraordinary June calendar, we'll build the journey around it.

The People of Aracari // Mariana Gonzalez

Founder of , set in the Cordillera Blanca.

“Partnering with Aracari feels natural because we share a deep respect for Peru, not just as a destination, but as a living, breathing culture layered with history, community, and soul.

At Cuesta Serena, we believe travel should feel intentional and immersive, revealing the depth of the Andes beyond the obvious. Aracari’s thoughtful curation and commitment to authenticity resonate deeply with our philosophy of meaningful, slow, and conscious exploration.

It is always a pleasure to collaborate with a team that values detail, integrity, and the transformative power of travel.”

What a privilege to have her as part of the Aracari circle.

ARACARI GALLERY // Available now: Thibault Van Der Straete

Rooted in the highlands of the Andes, Thibault Van Der Straete's work begins with the fibre itself.

He works with Andean camelid fibres, woven into throws of 100% highland alpaca. Prized for its softness and warmth, alpaca has been central to Andean textile tradition for centuries, a material inseparable from the landscapes and communities it comes from.

Each piece is the kind that finds its way to the end of a bed or over the back of a chair and stays there.

The Amazon to Venice.

Sara Flores’s work is at the Biennale this year. For those who understand the tradition it comes from, the Shipibo-Konibo knowledge systems, the visual language passed through generations, the deep roots of this practice in the Amazonian jungle, this moment means something far beyond the art world.

It has been a long road to recognition. And it is one we have had the privilege of following from its source.

These videos take you to Bakish Mai, located in the community of San Francisco, in Ucayali, in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. It was here that Marisol witnessed this work in its own setting, surrounded by the community and tradition it comes from.

Bakish Mai is a non-profit foundation whose mission is to promote and preserve the creative ways of life, working across three interconnected areas: art, plants and territory.

To see that vision recognized on a stage like Venice is something else entirely.

Machu Picchu is bucket list. There’s no denying it. But the way you arrive matters just as much.

The journey through the Sacred Valley, the shifting light, the build of anticipation along the way.

We make sure getting to Machu Picchu is just as memorable as standing within it.
