Long before modern surfing existed, fishermen on the coast of Peru were already riding the waves on the ancient caballito de totora. 🌊

For thousands of years, these traditional reed boats were used not only for fishing, but also to glide back to shore on the waves—something many consider one of the earliest forms of surfing in the world.

Today, the caballito de totora remains a living symbol of Peru’s deep connection with the sea and its rich coastal traditions. 🏄‍♂️
