You’ve dreamed about seeing the pyramids your entire life. Last night trip 16 began: Welcome dinner on the Nile. 13 guys. Strangers 24 hours ago. Today: Standing at Giza together. The pyramids in front of you. Massive. Ancient. Real.

But you’re not experiencing this alone. You’re not on some random bus tour with 40 people you’ll never see again. You’re here with 13 other gay men who flew across the world for this exact moment. Guys who are just as blown away as you are. Sharing the goosebumps. Sharing the awe.

Sitting on the pyramids. Going inside them. Riding camels with the pyramids behind you.

Over the next week, you’ll get to know these guys. Really know them. You’ll laugh together. You’ll share stories. You’ll trust each other. The bonds will deepen.

Last night in Morocco. Farewell dinner at Villa Mabrouka, once the secluded sanctuary of fashion legends Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. These guys came as strangers and are leaving as family. That’s what Pivot Trip does—brings gay men together to explore the world. But more importantly, creates the kind of bond that’s hard to find after 40. Morocco was magical. We’ll be back. This place is UNREAL. Every wall. Every street. Every door. BLUE. Chefchaouen. The Blue City. Hidden in Morocco’s mountains. Most tours don’t come here. It’s off the main route. Too inconvenient. We came anyway.

The moment we arrived? Silence. Jaws dropped. Phones out immediately.
This is one of the most photogenic places on earth. Instagram doesn’t do it justice. You have to see it in person. Also, this photo looks like we’re about to drop an album. We’re not. But we could.

This is the Pivot Trip standard. We don’t skip the incredible places just because they’re harder to reach. We go BECAUSE they’re worth it. Morocco. Trip 15. Still finding places that stop us in our tracks.

Fes, Morocco. We toured the medina—one of the world’s oldest and largest urban labyrinths. Thousands of alleyways. Dead ends everywhere. Our private guide knew every corner.

Visited the ancient tanneries. They handed us mint to block the smell. It didn’t help much. Worth it.

That evening, we celebrated Pivot Trip’s [email protected] at a beautiful riad. Moroccan feast. The whole crew. Perfect night.

Then on the walk back, we stumbled into a local wedding procession. Music. Dancing. Traditional dress.

They invited us in.

We spent the rest of the evening dancing at a stranger’s wedding. No photos allowed—we just lived it. The smiles. The laughter. The love.

One of the best nights in Morocco. Maybe one of the best nights on any trip.

This is what happens when you actually go. You can’t plan moments like this. You just have to be there.

The hotels matter. This is our riad in Fes. Traditional Moroccan architecture. Blue tile pool. Not something you find on Booking.com.

Every property we stayed in Morocco was like this. Marrakech. The desert. Fes. Boutique riads and luxury camps you’d never find on your own.

We spend months searching and working with our local partners to find these places. Small, family-owned when possible. Rarely a chain hotel. Always immersive.

Where you sleep is part of the experience. Not just a place to crash between activities. This is the standard on every Pivot Trip.

Sunset camel ride through the Sahara.

Golden light. Soft sand. Silence except for the camels and the wind.

We climbed dunes. Watched the sun drop behind the desert. The kind of moment you don’t talk through—you just take it in.

Two days in the real Sahara.

Tea with Berbers in traditional desert tents. Their families have survived here for generations.

Khamlia village—descendants of African slaves who settled in Morocco centuries ago. They played Gnawa music in their homes. Shared their heritage.

Then dune buggies across the desert. Sandboarding down massive dunes. Culture and adrenaline. This is the balance.

Most tours stop at the fake desert outside Marrakech. We drove nine hours to get here.

Most tours stop at the rocky and fake desert outside Marrakech. We kept going. Deep into the real Sahara.

Dinner under the stars. Campfire. No lights for a hundred miles. Just us, the sand, and silence.
This is the payoff. This is why we don’t take shortcuts.

Off the beaten path isn’t just a tagline. It’s how we travel.

We stopped at a local family’s home to learn couscous from scratch. Hands-on, in their home, with recipes passed down for generations.

Ait Ben Haddou along the way (Morocco’s movie capital). Atlas Mountain vistas. Villages most tourists never see.
