We provide custom designed trips in the Peruvian Andes mountains tailored to suit your needs and experience. Sylwester AKA Sparta is a 39 year old friendly Polish guy who spent most of his youth exploring

the mountains of Poland. He studied geography and once worked as a cartographer updating touristic maps. He has been living in peru for 6 years and speaks fluent Spanish, English and some Quechua. Sometimes while speaking English he speaks like Yoda from Starwars! Darrell AKA Persona is a 31 year old English guy who has been a professional chef for 13 years and finds writing about himself in third person perspective rather strange. He has spent 3 years living in Peru and only discovered hiking 2 years ago but his first ever hike was a life changer: A 12 day hike without a guide, donkey or map. Ever since that trip he has been in love with the mountains. He speaks English, a lot of spanish and a tiny bit of Quechua. How we work:

After you have made contact with us we can either suggest trips which will suite your group and time frame or maybe you already have a plan. We will meet up before the trip and discuss what will be needed for the adventure and make a plan. We will buy all the supplies needed to survive like food and gas etc. Costs:

Your group will cover the cost of the supplies, transportation, etc. We will go the extra mile to find the best prices on the supplies and any third-party services (Like a horse master or taxi )
All we ask for our service is a donation of your choosing be it money or anything you like. In some circumstances we might have to charge a fee but we cant think of any reasons why we should yet :)

It was the best weather we’ve ever had for our March trip to Choquequirao. The insects hardly bit, there were only three other tourists at the ruins and we had the campsites almost all to ourselves. We were visited by a condor and many other birds while the fauna was a rainbow of colours. The trail still remains wild in parts, but Capulliyoc Pass is totally under construction with a new development coming soon. Great news is that huge new sections are being revealed of the ruins, currently being uncovered in the lower part below. Choque is changing, but it still holds an incredible magic and we loved sharing it with you Pedro, Emily, Myles, Jasper & Macy.

Am sure there are some very tired bodies today. We ascended Pitursiray yesterday and passed new born foals and calves, traversed soggy waters, braved all sorts of weather but were rewarded by so much beauty including gorgeous sunshine and a double rainbow, which created magical fractals with the clouds. The rainbows blessed our final descent for many hours into Calca. Thanks to everyone who joined us and we look forward to the next one (when we’ve recovered from this one!!).

Estoy seguro de que hay algunos cuerpos muy cansados hoy. Ascendimos a Pitursiray ayer y pasamos potros y becerros recién nacidos, atravesamos aguas empapadas, nos enfrentamos a todo tipo de clima pero fuimos recompensados con tanta belleza, incluyendo la magnífica luz del sol y un doble arco iris, que creó fractales mágicos con las nubes. El arco iris bendijo nuestro descenso final durante muchas horas en Calca. Gracias a todos los que se unieron a nosotros y esperamos con ansias el próximo (¡cuando nos hayamos recuperado de este!).

Wow what a day we had yesterday. Perfect weather and a nimble group. The adventure began early morn through the waters of Tambo Machay, we traversed majestic mountains past sweeping llama and sheep herds, to sharing and picnicking in the sunshine by Qori Ccocha (Lake of Gold) until finally we ascended through the magical ruins of Huchuy Qosqo. Dirty, exhausted and very happy

Such an awesome, diverse group of friends joined us for the hike yesterday. We were mostly lucky with the weather, though it did rain on our picnic a bit. But we just sheltered under some big rocks and before long the sun was shining on us again. The trail from above Urubamba to the ruins of Chupani and to waterfalls beyond was truly stunning. And the day finished with a new route home through some wild and secret ruins, plus a huge double rainbow that blessed us all. More hikes coming soon! ////

It looks like we have a good sized group of adventurers for our next big hike to this ancient Incan citadel. For the best possible price of soles/1200 per person, we need to fill up all 9 spaces on the private bus. We only have a few left and these are the last days before a deposit is due, so get in contact quick to confirm a spot and with any questions you may have.

This Sunday Nov 19 we will be going on a free day hike from Urubamba to Chupani, (meet at 7am outside Sofi’s in Pisac, bring all essentials plus soles for local buses) which is an opportunity to meet us and some of the group, if you haven’t already. First deposit for the 4night/5day trek to Choque are due this Monday November 20. Although we would like to know numbers as soon as possible, to confirm prices and start the preparations. Join us!

Despite rains and no electricity, six excited and wary souls met up yesterday early morn. Most of us had some experience of mighty Apu Pitusiray and knew how tricky it could be. But together we hiked to the lower lake and were overwhelmed by the potent power and beauty of this mountain. When we began ascending further to have our picnic lunch, two horses galloped up from behind us. A noise ahead of our group then revealed two more horses on a higher slope. We all watched as these ‘wild’ horses crossed our paths and were reunited, whinnying with pleasure. Later on, as we began our descent, a magnificent condor swooped over and blessed us all. Next hike, we follow the condor to Choquequirao (6-10 Nov) so let us know if you’re keen for some mountain magic too.

A pesar de las lluvias y la falta de electricidad, seis almas excitadas y cautelosas se encontraron ayer por la mañana temprano. La mayoría de nosotros tenía alguna experiencia con el poderoso Apu Pitusiray y sabía lo difícil que podía ser. Pero juntos fuimos de excursión al lago inferior y nos sentimos abrumados por la potencia poderosa y la belleza de esta montaña. Cuando comenzamos a ascender más para almorzar, dos caballos galoparon detrás de nosotros. Un ruido delante de nuestro grupo reveló dos caballos más en una pendiente más alta. Todos vimos como estos caballos 'salvajes' se cruzaron en nuestro camino y se reunieron, relincharon de placer. Más tarde, cuando comenzamos nuestro descenso, un magnífico cóndor se abalanzó sobre nosotros y nos bendijo a todos. Siguiente caminata, seguimos el cóndor a Choquequirao (6-10 Nov) así que avísenos si también está interesado en la magia de la montaña.

Hola amigos, just confirming that we are meeting at 6:30am tomorrow/saturday outside Sofi's in Pisac. We will make our ascent from Calca up Apu Pitusiray via local bus so don't forget some soles. It's a better and safer route than Arin and this way we get home quicker at the end too!

Hola amigos, solo confirmo que nos reuniremos a las 6:30 a.m. mañana / sabado afuera de Sofi's en Pisac. Haremos nuestro ascenso desde Calca hasta Apu Pitusiray a través del autobús local, así que no olvides algunas suelas. Es una ruta mejor y más segura que Arin y de esta manera llegamos a casa más rápido al final también!

CHOQUE MEETING THIS FRIDAY 27TH OCTOBER, 3PM @ ULRIKE’S PISAC

These llama steps are a truly spectacular part of the ruins of Choquequirao. Not everyone gets there their first visit, as there are some 500 steps to descend and then re-climb back to the main ruins. There is just so much to explore at this mystical, magical site, that we always discover something new. Like the sacred temple that is way over the other side of the ruins, past the Plaza de Armas, up to the pyramid, down past the Inca computer and then into a valley which leads to a waterfall. This place has a very powerful, deeply spiritual energy.

Come along and meet everyone this Friday at 3pm, we’ll gather in Ulrike’s in Pisac to discuss the hike further (Mon 6 thru Fri 6 November) and you can ask any questions you may have. Plus we have a day hike up Apu Pitusiray this Saturday and all are welcome. We are meeting at 6:30am outside Sofi’s in Pisac and will get a local bus to begin this hike. All welcome!

Estos pasos de llama son una parte verdaderamente espectacular de las ruinas de Choquequirao. No todos llegan a su primera visita, ya que hay unos 500 pasos para descender y luego volver a escalar hacia las ruinas principales. Hay tanto por explorar en este sitio místico y mágico, que siempre descubrimos algo nuevo. Como el templo sagrado que está al otro lado de las ruinas, pasa la Plaza de Armas, sube a la pirámide, baja la computadora Inca y luego hacia un valle que conduce a una cascada. Este lugar tiene una energía muy poderosa y profundamente espiritual.

Vengan y conozcan a todos este viernes a las 3 p.m., nos reuniremos en Ulrike's en Pisac para hablar sobre el trek (del lunes 6 al viernes 6 de noviembre) más allá y pueden hacer cualquier pregunta que puedan tener.
