🐸🌿 A hidden jewel of the Peruvian Amazon 🌿🐸

A special encounter with Atelopus seminiferus (Harlequin Toad) — a unique amphibian from the cloud forests of San Martín, Peru.

This small and extraordinary species represents the incredible biodiversity of our Amazonian ecosystems. Like many harlequin toads, it faces serious conservation challenges and is currently considered Critically Endangered (CR), making every encounter in the wild a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting its habitat.

🌙🐍 Night Walk Tour – Tarapoto, Peru

When the sun goes down, the rainforest comes alive.

This time, we guided a group of visitors from the United States on our Night Walk Tour, one of our most popular wildlife experiences in Tarapoto. Our adventure took us to Salto de la Bruja, a beautiful area within the Cordillera Escalera Regional Conservation Area.

Walking through rainforest trails, crystal-clear streams, and hidden waterfalls, we encountered some of the forest's most fascinating nocturnal residents, including frogs, snakes, insects, and many other creatures that emerge only after dark.

Every night in the Amazon is different, offering unique opportunities to observe wildlife and experience the rainforest from a completely different perspective.

Nuestros amigos visitantes de Estados Unidos vivieron una experiencia inolvidable durante nuestro Night Walk Tour en el mágico Salto de La Bruja, ubicado dentro del Área de Conservación Regional Cordillera Escalera.

A lo largo del recorrido nocturno exploramos senderos rodeados de bosque tropical, observamos impresionantes especies de ranas venenosas, serpientes y otros fascinantes habitantes de la selva que cobran vida después del atardecer. Además, disfrutamos de la belleza única de las cascadas bajo el cielo nocturno, una experiencia que conecta a nuestros visitantes con la naturaleza de una manera auténtica y emocionante.

En un bosque seco estacional poco explorado, salimos en busca de una joya de la herpetofauna amazónica: *Ranitomeya variabilis* (Dry Forest), una población única adaptada a un ecosistema muy diferente al que normalmente asociamos con esta especie.

Cada encuentro en el campo es un recordatorio de la increíble diversidad que aún permanece oculta entre las hojas, bromelias y pequeños rincones del bosque. Durante nuestras expediciones también registramos otras fascinantes especies de anfibios y reptiles, convirtiendo cada salida en una experiencia inolvidable para fotógrafos de naturaleza, herpetólogos y amantes de la vida silvestre.
