Lin Lin 2025 it's been a challengue and a pleasure getting to know you better through the year, after lining and portaging for a few trips, we got to run the entrance with an all guides crew just a couple weeks ago at it's lowest flows...now the rains are starting and the river is rising...the challengue continues! Thank you Marañón for keeping us sharp with your non stop changes, high water season is coming!!

Off to our IRF expedition course with , one week pushing our limits and learning new skills with an international crew from Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Spain, Portugal, USA and 4 peruvians from our team.

Season is ON and the crew is enjoying some soulful kayaking laps in the Utcubamba river in between expeditions. Congrats to Lobo and Jairo for their first run down the Churuja - Pedro Ruiz section with healthy medium flows, such a blessing to have this class III-IV section at our base doorstep.

Now ready for the next expedition down the Heart of the Marañón!

We are almost ready to head out for our first expedition of the season, water level is looking good at a medium high flow (480 m3/17,000 ft3), we are excited to see what the Marañón will have for us this year, it´s been a higher than average high water season so changes are almost certain, we´ll update on this once we are back.

So stoked to finally be bouncing down some joyful wave trains again!

We float through some very remote sections of canyon, but we also float by many riverside communities that live along the Marañón, different people and cultures along the way. It´s always interesting seeing the transition, and always inspiring seeing how this people live in close contact with nature, lacking some basic needs, but having some blessings that we can appreciate if we come from such different backgrounds.

River time is always inspiring, specially while interacting with remote villages, this can give us a fresh perspective on life, needs, happiness and satisfaction.

La Catedral, such a cool place to hang out and admire, imagine a dam project was planned at this location? Besides the beautiful Red Canyon and its special biodiversity, there´s ancient rock art all around the area that were not even considered in the impact assesment. How much nature beauty and potential for tourism and recreation would have been lost...

We are always grateful that this project didn´t go ahead, but we will not stop raising awareness about the importance of this river corridor and supporting the conservation efforts to keep this river free flowing until is legally guaranteed in the long term, we are still far from there!

Lin Lin rapid is one of the toughest in the Heart of the Marañón section, specially at medium flows. Big breaking waves at the start, that are hard to predict, can easily change your angle after a big hit (and throw you out of the boat)... and a big hole at the middle of the river is waiting for you at the exit.

Lin Lin day is always exciting! Thanks to Brett Hochmutch from GOALS for capturing this awesome secuence.

How many times can you say "Hold on" while running a rapid? Practice and team work allowed us to handle the situation and gave us a reason to laugh and feel more alive than ever afterwards. These are the days that stick to our memory.
