This morning, after a beautiful tour around the island, I received the cutest tip ever 💛

Instead of coins or bills, someone handed me this tiny heart, carefully folded from money. Such a simple gesture, but it meant so much more than just a tip: it was thoughtful, creative, and full of kindness.

Moments like this remind me that it’s not about how much you give, but the heart behind it.

Long before modern kitchens and supermarkets, Polynesian families gathered beneath the generous branches of the breadfruit tree — the beloved ‘uru’.
Legend says that the tree was a gift from the gods, offered to ensure no one would ever go hungry. And for generations, it kept its promise.
Freshly picked uru was roasted over crackling wood fires, filling the air with a warm, sweet aroma. Some families boiled it, others turned it into hearty stews shared at the end of the day.
But one of the oldest traditions was even more ingenious: storing the fruit for months in stone silos, where it gently fermented. This ancient technique guaranteed food during hard seasons — a quiet testament to Polynesian knowledge and resilience.
Today, every bite of uru carries that history. A simple fruit, a powerful story. 🌺🔥

Discover the Faarumai Waterfalls 🌿💦

Hidden in the lush valley of Tiarei on Tahiti’s north coast, the Faarumai Waterfalls (Les Trois Cascades) are among the island’s most magical spots.

The first waterfall, Vaimahutu, is just a short, easy walk from the road — and it’s often said to be the most photographed waterfall on Tahiti.

If you continue along the shaded trail through the tropical forest, you’ll find two more falls, Haamaremare Rahi and Haamaremare Iti, tumbling down mossy cliffs surrounded by giant ferns and bamboo. The air is cool and filled with the sound of rushing water and bird calls.

Keep an eye out for the elegant Tahiti swiftlets, locally known as phaetons — white-tailed birds that glide gracefully above the cascades. They’re often seen darting through the mist near the waterfalls, adding a touch of wild beauty to the scene.

✨ A must-see if you want to experience Tahiti’s natural side — serene, photogenic, and full of life.
