C’est avec une immense tristesse que nous avons appris la disparition d’un ami .
C’est aussi avec un profond sentiment d’injustice face à ce que la vie nous impose que nous pleurons notre ami Stéphane Sayeb .
Il nous a quittés brusquement laissant derrière lui un immense désarroi et un vide abyssal .
Les témoignages sur les réseaux sociaux ou encore au détour de conversations reflètent l’amour profond que beaucoup lui portaient .
Nous avons eu l’immense privilège de pouvoir le connaître et de le côtoyer comme un ami et plus encore… comme un frère .
Stéphane était un passionné .
Nombre d’entre vous l’ont connu derrière son objectif photographique mais Stéphane était aussi un amoureux de la nature et surtout de l’océan .
Nous l’avons connu comme un fin pêcheur au harpon , « Pupuhi » pour les intimes .
Il nous ramenait du bon poisson frais .
C’était également un excellent nageur et c’est grâce à ses grandes connaissances de la mer qu’il nous a accompagnés lors de nos excursions pour nous assurés une sécurité optimale .
Pour les nombreux visiteurs qui ont eu la chance de l’avoir comme guide , il a su partager son savoir et son amour de la Polynésie avec cette humilité qui le caractérisait tant .
Stéphane va beaucoup nous manquer .
Toutes nos pensées vont à sa femme et à ses enfants .
Nous avons le cœur brisé même si son amour continuera toujours à rayonner parmi nous .

It is with immense sadness that we learned of the loss of a friend .
We also mourn our friend Stéphane Sayeb with a profound sense of injustice at what life sometimes imposes upon us .
He left us suddenly , leaving behind immense sorrow and an unfathomable void .
The messages shared on social media , as well as the conversations we have had, reflect the deep love and affection so many people had for this great man .
We had the immense privilege of knowing him and sharing time with him , first as a friend , and even more than that… as a brother .
Stéphane was a passionate man .
Many of you knew him behind the lens of his camera , but Stéphane was also a lover of nature, and above all, of the ocean .
We knew him as an accomplished spearfisherman , “Popui” to those close to him .
He was also an excellent swimmer .
It was thanks to his extensive knowledge of the sea that he accompanied us on our excursions .
For the many visitors who were fortunate enough to have him as their guide , he shared his knowledge and his love of Polynesia with them, always with the humility that was so characteristic of him .
Stéphane will be deeply missed .
Our heartfelt thoughts go out to his wife and children .
Our hearts are broken , even though his love will continue to shine among us forever .
