Trekking the Kokoda Trail I'm Bexie Dadi, a local guide from Misima, near Kokoda. I guide trekkers on the Kokoda Trail in Papu Unfortunately I have not an email address, yet.

As you may know, the Kokoda Trail is one of the worlds most fascinating, short wilderness treks. Although there are plenty of very commercial (Australian) travel companies that make the trail sound as if it's almost an Everest Expedition, it's still a trek. The trail is wild, challenging and there are not so many facilities, but it's very doable for anybody with a good health, persistance and a feel for adventure. Like Armand, my friend from the Netherlands, I suggest to keep the trip as simple and basic as possible. Come alone, with two persons or just in a small group and enjoy the real outdoor lifestyle of Papua New Guinea and learn about the history of this unique area and trail. Armand: "...Bexie is a great guide and his family just lovely! I loved the visits to Beleni and Misima (nobody goes there) and Bexie and his family are such a nice people: caring, knowledgeable, experienced, strong and real (not as some of the too commercial groups I met on the way). I would suggest anybody to trek the very interesting war trail from Kokoda to Owers Corner. Fly to Popondetta or Kokoda, Hire Bexie and stay in Beleni and Misima. You will not regret it, I promise!!! His uncle Timothy stays in Ports Moresby and is able to arrange everything you need if you like.
