As we start the new month... 🌊

5:35am this morning, I stood here at my beachfront — just me, the waves, and this quiet morning. I didn't realize today is the 1st of November.

And this month, LaeAbout Tours turns 10 years old. Ten years.

My heart is full and emotional this morning, so I just want to say THANK YOU.

First, thank you to God. For carrying me and my three kids through everything. For this journey. For never leaving us, even when we lost everything 4 years back.

To all our clients, viewers, supporters and families — thank you. To everyone who has booked a tour, shared a post, left a comment, prayed for us — you are the reason we are still here.

And to my three kids — my beautiful amazing .musketeers teens 🙂— thank you for putting up with everything, no matter what. You have walked every step of this journey with mama since we started from nothing. I love you more than words. ❤️

Few of you know we started from nothing and built our small villag eco site which we call 'mBamoa'. Then we lost it all due to land dispute and had to close down for almost a year (no complains, PNG this who we are 🙂). In 2022 we started rebuilding again — slowly, piece by piece with only tours. We are not fully established yet, but we are still rising.

Later this month I will share more of our story — how we came so far, lost it all, and are rising again from the ashes.

But for today — on the 1st day of our 10th Anniversary month — I just want to say from my beach to yours: Thank you. I am so grateful.

Happy New Month, my beautiful Lae people and across the Province of Papau New Guinea and to overseas, to those that are traveling in. 🙏

Late post but here it is...Morobe Show Sunday morning vibe!

What a small world! 🌏

Our Canadian guests arrived in time for the Morobe Show. Catching up with them on a sunday Sunday morning over coffee here at SIL. We all surprisingly booked into the same house , SIL — what are the chances! 😊 Catching up with them on a sunday morning ( 25.10.25) over coffee before I am off for the show even while Ash takes around to see the cultural dancers.

📍 Friday - visit to Labumiti Primary School to donate books 📚❤️ day trip, Salamaua & overnight at Salamata Haus of Paradise.
📍 Saturday - Return a visit to the Botonical garden + war cementry.
📍 Sunday - Morobe Show, dinner at Lae City gatden in the evebing
📍 Monday - Rainforest Habitat visit before their afternoon flight to Goroka

Next adventure awsuts a trip to Sialum. Rebecca has lived and grown up in Morobe she's back revisiting with her family friend.

Ella's 2 day adventure (Thursday 22.10.26) 🙂

🌿✨ A Beautiful Morning at Busamang!

We hosted our lovely guest Ella for a half-day escape — 9:30am to 12 noon to Busamang Village & Waterfall.

She absolutely loved the walk to the falls, the fresh nature, birds singing, and just breathing in that village peace. 💚

No rush. Just nature, stories, and a little adventure just 40 minutes away from Lae City!

ELLA'S DAY 1 VILLAGE ADVENTURE

Meet Ella! 🇵🇬❤️ Her first adventure with Lae About Tours!

Ella told me: "I want to experience real village life." So we didn't give her a hotel tour — we gave her Labu life!

For half a day, she became part of our village:

🌿 Waded through the mangroves with us — no shoes, just real adventure
🎨 Shopped for her own meri blouse at the local market
🥥 Sat with our elders and learned to weave with coconut leaf, drinking fresh kulau under the trees
🛶 Laughed with the kids paddling their dugout canoes
🦀 And then — the traditional kaikai she asked for — fresh mud crabs in coconut cream, village clams, straight from the mangrove to the plate!

She said it's not a tour, it's life. And that's exactly what Lae About Tours is about!

This is just Day 1! Tomorrow — boat ride and hike to the waterfall! Stay tuned!

It is a privilege to be included in national branding promotion campaigns like the Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority campaign "Kam Yumi Raun! - Come Explore With Us!"

There is a lot of forward planning, pivoting and just about making things happen when the situations don't allow for what you expect. We have a new found respect on what goes on behind the scenes to capture footage and perform interviews. The people and teams involved, thank you for your coaching, your enthusiasm and patience.

We would like to thank Trove Tourism Development Advisors, VERGE Papua New Guinea, Cheyes Visuals , PNG TPA, The PNG Forest Research Institute - Lae, The Unitech Rainforest Habitat , The community and people of Labu, Huon Gulf, The City of Lae and Morobe.
