Alburquerque is The Home of the Tuba and Kinilaw Festival in the Philippines. Mayor Don Ritchie Plaza Buates and by the Sangguniang Bayan presided by Hon. Vice Mayor Alexis Fernan Rebuyon Simeon. The denizens are called Alburanons. It has 6 coastal barangays namely Bahi, San Agustin, East Poblacion, West Poblacion, Sta. Filomena and Tagbuane. The 5 upland barangays are Ponong, Toril, Basacdacu, Dangay and Cangtiguib.
