Every barangay has a story waiting to be told.
The Local Government Unit of Allen, through the Allen Youth and Sports Development Office, in collaboration with the Municipal Tourism Office, ALLEN TV, and the Allen District Volleyball Organization, proudly presents the kaLUGARingon Barangay Promotional Video Competition 2026 with the theme, โOur Barangay. Our Story. Our Pride.โ
Inspired by the Waray word โkalugaringon,โ meaning oneโs own, kaLUGARingon celebrates the unique identity of every barangay in Allen. By putting emphasis on the word โLUGARโ (place), the competition encourages Allenians to tell the stories of the communities they proudly call homeโits people, history, culture, traditions, local products, natural attractions, and everyday life.
Whether youโre an aspiring filmmaker, content creator, student, or simply someone who loves your community, this is your chance to showcase what makes your barangay truly special.
Deadline of Submission: July 17, 2026
Video Guidelines:
- Open to all bona fide residents of the Municipality of Allen
- Individual or group entries are accepted
- Video duration: 3-5 minutes
- Landscape (16:9) format
- Minimum resolution: 1080p (Full HD)
- File format: MP4 or MOV
- Each entry must feature only the participantโs barangay of residence
Prizes:
- Champion โ โฑ7,000 and Certificate
- 1st Runner-up โ โฑ5,000 and Certificate
- 2nd Runner-up โ โฑ3,000 and Certificate
Criteria for Judging:
- 30% Content and Storytelling
How effectively the video presents the story, identity, and unique character of the featured barangay through engaging and meaningful storytelling.
- 25% Creativity and Originality
The originality of the concept, creative ex*****on, and fresh approach in showcasing the barangay.
- 20% Video Quality and Editing
Overall production quality, including cinematography, sound, editing, pacing, and visual presentation.
- 15% Promotion of Barangay Identity
How well the video highlights the barangayโs culture, history, traditions, people, attractions, and community pride.
- 10% Views and Engagement
The videoโs reach and audience interaction through views, reactions, comments, and shares after the official uploading period.
