NAIA’s New Biometric Immigration e-Gates: What You Need to Know

Biometric e-Gates are now operating at Terminals 1 and 3, allowing passengers to clear immigration in about 20 seconds using facial recognition.

Quick facts:
✔️ Powered by Amadeus, a global travel technology company
✔️ Operated by the Bureau of Immigration
✔️ Fully funded by NNIC, at no cost to passengers or the government

Who can use the e-Gates?
Eligibility depends on passport type and your airline’s system integration with Immigration. The rollout is being done in phases, with timelines set by the Bureau of Immigration:
✔️ Phase 1 (Departure): Philippine passport holders who are Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)
✔️ Phase 1 (Arrival): All Philippine passport holders
✔️ All biometric data is handled and stored by the Bureau of Immigration, in accordance with government data privacy and security protocols

These upgrades are part of NAIA’s ongoing efforts to improve passenger flow and reduce queues.

Watch the video for more details and a step-by-step guide on how to use the e-Gates.

✅ Mga Dahilan Kung Bakit Mahal ang Biglaang Flight Booking:

🧳RemindersTraveller

Reminders to all passengers that making bomb jokes or false threats is a punishable crime under Philippine law.

Such acts cause unnecessary panic, disrupt port operations, and lead to flight/ trip delays that affect hundreds of travelers.

Under Presidential Decree No. 1727, individuals found guilty may face imprisonment of up to five years, a fine of up to ₱40,000, or both, at the discretion of the court. This law was enacted to address the growing concern over false threats and their consequences on public safety.

Let’s work together to ensure a safe, smooth, and timely journey for everyone.

Ongoing flight cancellations continue to affect travel from the UAE. Several Major airlines have suspended services temporarily to various destinations, with some suspensions extending until mid-July.
