Bus fares up: Baguio–Cubao now around ₱740

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Travelers heading to Metro Manila will need to budget a little more.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has implemented a provisional fare increase of ₱0.35 per kilometer for provincial air-conditioned buses, effective March 14, 2026.
Under the updated fare guide, the rate for regular air-conditioned provincial buses is now ₱2.45 per kilometer.
For a trip of roughly 300 km — the approximate distance between Baguio and Cubao — the LTFRB matrix lists a fare of ₱735, which bus operators commonly round to about ₱740.
Passengers entitled to discounts — students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities — receive 20% off, bringing the estimated fare to around ₱588.

What changed
The LTFRB order grants the following provisional increases:
• Air-conditioned / Regular buses — +₱0.35 per km
• Super Deluxe buses — +₱0.35 per km
• Deluxe buses — +₱0.35 per km
• Luxury buses — +₱0.45 per km
• Ordinary buses — +₱1 base fare + ₱0.30 per succeeding km
The fare adjustment was approved through an LTFRB order dated March 13, 2026.
