Organizers’ Services Are Not Free
What most people see is a hike.
What they don’t see is everything it takes just to make that hike happen.
Before a single bag is packed, organizers are already working. They spend hours replying to messages, answering the same questions over and over, convincing people to join so the trip won’t be canceled. They coordinate with guides and barangays, process registrations, pay fees, plan routes, monitor weather updates, and prepare backup plans in case something goes wrong.
Organizing is mentally and emotionally draining. You carry the constant what ifs—what if someone gets injured, what if the weather turns bad, what if someone doesn’t enjoy the trip, what if something happens and it becomes your responsibility. While others are excited, organizers are alert and anxious—because everyone’s safety is in their hands.
On the day of the hike, organizers are not just there to enjoy the view. They count heads, watch pacing, notice who’s struggling even when no one says a word. They manage emotions, resolve issues, adjust plans on the spot, and make decisions under pressure. They don’t just lead a hike—they carry accountability.
And after all that effort, sometimes there’s no feedback. No review. No message. Not even a simple “thank you.” Just silence—while the organizer replays everything, wondering if they did enough.
The truth is, organizing is hard. The stress is heavy. The responsibility is constant. Many organizers do this while balancing work, family, and life.
So why do they keep doing it?
Because of passion.
Because they believe in bringing people to the mountains safely.
Because they love seeing strangers become friends.
Because they believe these experiences matter.
Organizers don’t charge because they’re greedy. They charge because time, effort, responsibility, and care have value. Passion may be the reason they start—but it doesn’t make the work easy.
Good hikes don’t happen by chance.
They happen because someone chose to make them happen.
