Nurturing the Next Generation of Tourism Ambassadors in Breathtaking Badian!

The Local Government Unit of Badian, welcomed the Tourism Management Department (TMD) of Cebu Normal University (CNU) for a needs assessment among selected senior high school students on October 16, 2026, as part of the preparatory phase of the proposed Youth Tourism Ambassadors Program.

The activity included a short tourism orientation highlighting the importance of tourism to Badian’s local economy, the role of the youth in promoting responsible and sustainable tourism, and the opportunities for young people to become active partners in showcasing the municipality’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

Through this collaboration, we aim to empower the youth with the knowledge, skills, and passion to become future advocates of inclusive and sustainable tourism—because building a stronger tourism destination begins with investing in its people, especially the next generation.

Together, let us inspire the youth to take pride in their heritage, champion responsible tourism, and help shape the future of Breathtaking Badian!

SAFETY ADVISORY
REOPENING OF BADIAN CANYONEERING ADVENTURE & KAWASAN FALLS

Following a reassessment conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), we are pleased to inform the public that the Badian Canyoneering Adventure and Kawasan Falls will reopen today, October 15, 2026.

The latest assessment confirms that the water level is returning to normal, making it safe to gradually resume tourism activities. Visitors may once again enjoy the attraction while adhering to all established safety measures.

All guests are reminded to strictly follow the instructions of accredited canyoneering guides and tourism personnel at all times. The safety and well-being of our visitors, guides, and stakeholders remain our highest priority.

The LGU Badian, through the MDRRMO and the Municipal Tourism Office, will continue to closely monitor weather and river conditions. Should conditions change, appropriate safety measures will be implemented immediately.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE NOTICE
Badian Canyoneering Adventure & Kawasan Falls

In the interest of public safety, the Badian Canyoneering Adventure and Kawasan Falls are temporarily closed to all visitors effective today, October 14, 2026.

This temporary closure is due to the rise in water level and water discoloration caused by continuous rainfall, as recommended by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) following its safety assessment.

The safety of our guests, accredited canyoneering guides, and all tourism stakeholders remains our utmost priority. We will continue to closely monitor the weather and river conditions in coordination with the MDRRMO and other concerned agencies.

Operations will resume once the area has been declared safe for tourism activities. We encourage everyone to stay updated through the official pages for the latest announcements.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone.

The Municipal Government of Badian officially launched the Badian Citizen’s Card and signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with GCash this afternoon at the Badian Covered Court.

With the theme “Digital Badian: Empowering Citizens, Connecting Communities,” this initiative aims to make government services faster, easier, more accessible, and more responsive to every Badianon.

Through the Citizen’s Card, the LGU seeks to streamline the delivery of financial assistance and other local government transactions, while promoting digital and financial inclusion in the community.

More importantly, a digitally empowered community strengthens our tourism industry. As Badian continues to welcome more visitors and tourism investments, modern and efficient local services help create a community that is not only tourist-ready, but future-ready.

From our tourism workers and entrepreneurs to our communities and visitors, digital transformation can help build a more connected tourism ecosystem—one that supports better services, stronger local participation, and a more competitive Badian destination.

BREATHTAKING BADIAN WELCOMED MISS ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL!

Last weekend, the Municipality of Badian proudly welcomed the beautiful candidates of Miss Asia Pacific International for a memorable immersion filled with adventure, culture, nature, and the warm hospitality of the Badianganon people.

The candidates experienced paragliding at Badian Highlands, enjoyed the shores of Lambug Beach, took on the thrill of Badian Canyoneering, and concluded their journey at the majestic Kawasan Falls.

More than showcasing our destinations, the immersion gave our guests a glimpse of the culture, community, and spirit of Badian—the heart behind our breathtaking landscapes.

We are grateful to have shared our home with these remarkable women from different parts of the world. We hope they take with them breathtakingmemories of Badian and, in their own way, help us share the story and beauty of Breathtaking Badian with the world.

CLOSURE ADVISORY | SEPTEMBER 22, 2026

Please be advised that Badian Canyoneering and Kawasan Nature Park will be temporarily closed on September 22, 2026 (Tuesday) in observance of the Fiesta Day of Barangay Matutinao.

The temporary closure is in accordance with Municipal Ordinance No. 18–2026, Section XIII (3) and Municipal Ordinance No. 10–2023, Section X, to help ensure public safety and prevent traffic disturbances and overcrowding during the festivities.

The Local Government Unit of Badian, in partnership with Barangay Matutinao, invites everyone to an evening of music, entertainment, and community celebration at the Matutinao Seawall.

The Municipal Government of Badian does not tolerate any act that violates our local ordinances, tourism regulations, and established safety standards.

In response to the reported incident, a Suspension Order has already been issued against the concerned party, in accordance with existing laws, ordinances, and due process.

Let this serve as a clear reminder that our tourism regulations are meant to be followed, not merely observed. They are in place to protect our visitors, tourism workers, communities, and the natural resources that make Badian a premier tourism destination.

The Municipal Government of Badian remains firm in its commitment to safe, responsible, and sustainable tourism and will continue to take appropriate action against violations.

We welcome tourism. We promote tourism. But we will not compromise safety, responsibility, and the law.
