The 3-Day Training Seminar on Updating the Cultural Map and Tourism Product Development successfully concluded with the presentation of tourism product proposals from the participating barangays of Badian.
Rooted in the updated cultural mapping and Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP) outputs, the barangays proudly showcased innovative and community-based tourism concepts highlighting their unique heritage, traditions, local products, stories, and cultural identity. The proposals reflected the strong commitment of the communities to transform culture into sustainable tourism opportunities that can create livelihood, preserve heritage, and strengthen local pride.
Serving as members of the evaluation panel were Municipal Planning and Development Officer Engr. Bryan Malatag, Municipal Engineer Engr. Elvin Montalla, MENRO Mr. Manolito Recopelacion, MAO Maโam Cirila Perater, Tourism Officer Mr. Earl Vincent P. Endab, along with the seminar speakers and trainers, Cebu Provincial Consultant on Museum, Heritage & Tourism Dr. Jose Eleazar Bersales and DOT Trainer Mr. Ruel Rigor.
Mayor Jerome Christian Librando also visited the seminar and delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of tourism as a catalyst for community development, economic opportunity, cultural preservation, and improved quality of life for the people of Badian.
This meaningful initiative forms part of the Municipality of Badianโs celebration of National Heritage Month, reaffirming its commitment to preserving local heritage and transforming cultural assets into sustainable tourism opportunities for future generations.
