Baganga Strengthens Commitment to Safe, Inclusive, and Accessible Tourism
The Department of Tourism Region XI, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Baganga through the Municipal Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, successfully conducted the Barrier-Free Training: Handling Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and Child-Safe Tourism on July 29, 2026, at BLARET Hometel.
The training enhanced the capacity of tourism stakeholders to deliver accessible, gender-responsive, and child-safe tourism services, reaffirming Baganga’s commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and secure destination for all.
This initiative reflects the steadfast support of Mayor Hon. Laureano “Lary” B. Taya, CPA, whose leadership continues to champion programs that promote safe spaces for both tourists and tourism stakeholders.
The Municipality of Baganga also extends its sincere gratitude to Department of Tourism Region XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan for her invaluable support and commitment to advancing sustainable, inclusive, and responsible tourism initiatives in the municipality.
We likewise express our appreciation to our distinguished resource speakers for sharing their expertise:
• Ms. Benz Bianca Cuario – Basic Gender and Development Training
• Mr. Mark John A. Macion, RSW – Barrier-Free Tourism: Handling Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
• Atty. Lyndon Evans P. Monday – Child-Safe Tourism: Protection of Children Against Sexual Abuse and Exploitation in Travel and Tourism
Through the strong collaboration between the Department of Tourism, the Local Government Unit of Baganga, and its tourism stakeholders, the municipality continues to advance quality, inclusive, and responsible tourism for the benefit of all.
