Free ocean safety and first response classes are coming up the Mindanao coast this October.

If you spend time in the water, whether you surf, run a boat, or just swim, you already know the ocean does not wait for help to arrive. These sessions are about what you can do in those first minutes, before anyone else gets there.

In about 90 minutes, hands on, you will learn to read the water and assess the risks before you go in, recognize a drowning and reach without becoming the second victim, control bleeding with what is on the beach, and start bystander CPR. No long lectures. Real practice, relaxed setting, open to everyone.

The dates are set.

Dahican on October 1
Baganga on the 5th
Bislig on the 7th
Marihatag and Lianga on the 10th.

Official venues for each stop will be shared as they are locked in, so follow along for those and for ocean safety tips between stops.

If your town is not on the list, come to whichever stop is closest. Bring a friend who surfs, or your favorite boatman.
