Travel Advisory

Dear Guests,

In light of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, AirAsia would like to advise all guests flying this festive season to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before departure for a smooth and seamless journey.

As we expect a high volume of traffic at security, baggage clearance and immigration checkpoints during this period, it is recommended that you complete your baggage drop and proceed to the boarding gate as early as possible.

All guests, including group bookings, are encouraged to perform self check-in via the AirAsia MOVE app or the web in advance for a smoother travel experience. Self check-in is available from 14 days up to 1 hour prior to departure.

All guests are advised to pre-book sufficient baggage allowance and to ensure they have the correct checked in and carry on luggage allowance prior to travelling. Each guest is only allowed one piece of cabin baggage (not larger than 56 x 36 x 23cm in dimension) and one laptop bag OR handbag OR small bag on board. The total permitted weight for 2 pieces of unchecked baggage must not exceed 7kg for both bags. If you need to add extra luggage, it is always cheaper to do so before you fly, which you can do online up to four hours before your scheduled departure time. Details on upgrading luggage allowance are available on our website here.

Guests with reduced mobility and special needs are required to check-in at the counter, so please plan the journey ahead.

Guests who will be travelling internationally are encouraged to use the MyBorderPass app which can be downloaded via Google Play Store or Apple App Store for a faster and more convenient journey. The system is exclusively available as an option for Malaysian passport holders and can be used at KLIA Terminal 2 (KLIA T2) where AirAsia operates.
