𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗦 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗕𝗜𝗞𝗢𝗟𝗡𝗢𝗡 𝗚𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗠𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘

Under the leadership of Mayor Paolo Teves, the Municipality of Baras warmly welcomed the delegates and participants of the 𝗦𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗺! “𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗸𝗼𝗹𝗻𝗼𝗻” 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀 – 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 & 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽 held on May 25–29, 2026, during their visit to Binurong Point, one of the municipality’s premier eco-tourism destinations.

Led by Jerico R. Tating, the Municipal Tourism Office facilitated the visit and warmly received the delegation as they explored the scenic landscapes of Baras and experienced the municipality’s local delicacies, including the renowned Temones Original Baras Longganisa and products from JSE Sweets, proudly featured during the validation activity as part of Baras’ contribution to the rich culinary heritage and distinct flavors of Catanduanes.

This initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Tourism Region V, the Provincial Government of Catanduanes, and its tourism stakeholders, aims to further promote the province’s gastronomy tourism through the documentation, validation, and appreciation of local food traditions, community stories, and cultural identity across the island.

The Municipality of Baras expresses its sincere gratitude to all organizers, delegates, media representatives, tour operators, and stakeholders for their continued support in advancing sustainable tourism and preserving the unique heritage of Catanduanes.

Culture game is officially locked in!

Big win for Baras! We just secured the official Certificate of Compliance from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for our Local Cultural Inventory, mapping our history and making sure our heritage gets the respect it deserves.

Huge shoutout to Mayor Jose Paolo P. Teves III for always leading with that visionary energy, and the entire Sangguniang Bayan of Baras for backing the vision.

And special main character energy goes to Hon. Eunice Carranza (Committee Chair on Tourism and Cultural Affairs) for doing the heavy lifting and making sure our cultural assets are protected.

We love a town that preserves its roots while moving forward. Baras is officially certified!

Baras is officially in its gourmet era!

Today’s "Taste of Happiness: Siram Baras!" training was a total vibe as we leveled up our local tuna game into premium gourmet goodness at the CatSU SSF. This major win wouldn't have been possible without the ultimate collab between LGU Baras (Tourism, Agri, and DTI) and the CatSU College of Industrial Technology Extension Services, but the real MVPs were our local fisherfolks, farmers, processed food sector, and tourism support squads who showed up and showed out. We’re not just catching fish anymore we’re crafting core memories and high-key delicious products that put our marine resources on the map.

Shoutout to everyone involved for helping us serve the most majestic flavors and securing the bag for our local community!

𝟭𝟮𝟵𝗧𝗛 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬

The Municipality of Baras officially commenced the celebration of its 129th Founding Anniversary through a meaningful Flag Ceremony and Thanksgiving Mass, reflecting gratitude for the abundant blessings, progress, and unity bestowed upon the community throughout the years.

An inspirational message was delivered by Municipal Mayor Paolo Teves and Vice Mayor Rico Tating, emphasizing the importance of unity, public service, cultural pride, and collective efforts toward a more progressive and resilient Baras.

The program also included the acknowledgement message of Municipal Councilor Eunice Carranza, Committee Chair on Tourism and Cultural Affairs, recognizing the invaluable support and participation of all sectors in making the celebration meaningful and successful.

A special part of the ceremony was the awarding of certificates of recognition to the retirees, in honor of their years of dedicated public service, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the Municipality of Baras. Their unwavering dedication and hard work have greatly contributed to the growth and development of the community.

The Municipality likewise extends its heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Fr. Joseph B. Saratan for leading the Thanksgiving Mass and sharing spiritual guidance for the entire community, and to the MAJESTIC Singing Ambassadors for rendering inspiring musical performances that added honor and inspiration to the occasion.

As Baras celebrates 129 years of history and progress, may this occasion continue to strengthen community connections and inspire every Baraseño to move forward with pride, unity, and dedication to public service.
