𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐑-𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐈𝐀 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨'𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Local Government Unit of Batad reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the sustainable development of Alapasco through its participation in a consultative meeting convened by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Sara, in coordination with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), at the CENRO Office in San Dionisio, Iloilo, held today, 24 August 2026.

The meeting centered on the proposed Integrated Area Development Plan (IADP) for Alapasco, which aims to provide an integrated framework for the sustainable development and management of the area. Discussions also explored the possible application for a Sustainable Forest Land Management Agreement (SFLMA) in support of the municipality's proposed eco-tourism development in Alapasco.

Representing the LGU Batad were Municipal Mayor Elvira P. Alarcon; Vice Mayor Steven Michael Y. Andrada; MCR Reynold Sandoy; MPDC Ma. Theresa D. Sayat; MENRO Samuel B. de la Vega; and OIC-Tourism Officer Daniel De los Santos.

The consultative meeting provided an avenue for the LGU Batad, DENR-CENRO Sara, and NIA to exchange insights, clarify concerns, and identify areas for collaboration in advancing the proposed development of Alapasco.
