They literally put the actors and production in the middle of ocean waters, sunny shores, and caves🪨just to give us the best fantasy mermaid experience! 🐠

Since it’s the month of mermaids in the art community, I just have to shout out the iconic Marina!

Looking back, I can honestly say they gave us one of the best mermaid world experiences. I love how they delivered such scenic visuals, literally placing the actors and production in real ocean waters, sunny shores, and caves.

The casting was perfect too. The characters were great, I especially liked the presence of the Queen and her circle of mermaid daughters. Dugong was also a smart choice so it wouldn’t feel too similar to Ursula.

And of course, the plot was solid! Being sent to the ocean because humans hates mermaids, then growing up in the ocean with those tail, and eventually returning to land with feet, it’s such a satisfying formula. Her longing for her mother and family on land gave her a strong reason to leave the ocean, which feels very Filipino-coded 👌
