🔎 𝐊𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢 (white cheese) 🧀 is a traditional breakfast in Laguna, which is made from the 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙤𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙚𝙨 and is widely produced in Sta. Cruz.

🔎 Bugok is considered as an 𝗘𝘅𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱, as it is a combination of duck’s eggs and abnoy or rotten eggs. 🥚 Yes, this food has rotten eggs which contributes to its rancid smell. But, some say that the more it stinks, it tastes better.

🧀 Kesong puti is sometimes called “𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙢𝙤𝙯𝙯𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖” because of its texture that is similar to Italian buffalo mozzarella.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 7 : 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐨 - 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬

𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬: connected craters, intertwined fates 🌊 🍃
San Pablo City, also known as the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬🌊, is the oldest of the six cities in Laguna🏦. It is also known as one of the oldest cities in the Philippines. It is the largest province, by land area, in laguna, hosting a population of 𝟐𝟔𝟔,𝟎𝟔𝟖.
The city is famous for its seven interconnected lakes: 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐜 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐘𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐩 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞.
The lakes were formed due to a phreatic eruption ⛰where the lava from Mt. San Cristobal intersected with groundwater, blowing out the overlying rocks creating a circular and crater-like depression which was soon filled up by rainwater 🌧.

Ang Liliw ang tinaguriang "𝙏𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙨 𝘾𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨" ✨ dahil sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng kanilang sariling gawang tsinelas na maasahang matibay at may kalidad.

Bukod sa tsinelas, marami pang tampok na produkto ang ipinagmamalaki ng Liliw, kabilang na dito ang kanilang 𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗴 🍷 𝗮𝘁 𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁 🫓

Ang uraro biscuit ay gawa mula sa 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗼 𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗼, at ang 🥥 𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗴 naman ay isang inuman na galing sa katas ng puno ng niyog 🌴

Marami ring nakakabinghaning pasyalan ang pwedeng libutin sa Liliw, gaya ng 𝔰𝔦𝔪𝔟𝔞𝔥𝔞𝔫 𝔫𝔦 𝔖𝔞𝔫 𝔍𝔲𝔞𝔫 𝔅𝔞𝔲𝔱𝔦𝔰𝔱𝔞 ⛪ na itinayo pa noong 𝟏𝟔𝟏𝟐. Natatangi ang disenyo ng simbahang ito dahil may arkitekturang may pulang tisa.

Ayon sa mga kwento, ang pangalan ng Liliw ay nagmula sa isang ibon 🐦 Sinasabi na sinubukan ni G*t Tayaw na pangalanan ang bayan sa pamamagitan ng 𝙥𝙖𝙜-𝙖𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙗𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝙠𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 ngunit isang uwak ang dumating na syang pinaniniwalaan ni G*t Tayaw na masamang senyales. Kaya't nagtayo siya ulit ng kawayan hanggang may dumating na isang magandang ibon na dumapo sa kawayan at umawit ng "𝐿𝒾𝓌, 𝐿𝒾𝓌, 𝐿𝒾𝓌," ✨🎶 na naging sanhi ng pangalang Liliw.

Her legend is intrinsically tied to the picturesque Mount Makiling in Laguna, Philippines, and she is revered as one of the most widely recognized 𝓭𝓲𝔀𝓪𝓽𝓪𝓼 (anitos) 🧚🏻‍♀️ in Philippine folklore.
🪷 She was venerated in pre-colonial Philippines as a goddess known as 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 ✨ or Dian Masalanta who was invoked to stop deluges, storms, and earthquakes.
🪷 The appellation “𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜” is a fusion of Spanish and Tagalog, derived from “Maria ng Makiling,” signifying “Maria of Makiling.” This name is an assimilation that evolved under Hispanic influence from an alternative title for the Diwata, “𝘿𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜.”--- “Dayang” is rooted in Austronesian, denoting a “princess” or a “noble lady.”
🪷 Many locals claim to have seen her on the slopes of Mount Makiling, particularly during times of mist or fog, and believe that she takes the form of a 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓉𝑒 𝒷𝓊𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓇𝒻𝓁𝓎. 🦋 In the legend, she is described as having long flowing hair, a white gown, and an otherworldly presence.
🪷 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, in a remarkable twist of nature, takes on the silhouette of a woman, often said to be the very likeness of Maria herself ⛰ . The mountain’s numerous peaks are said to correspond to Maria’s facial features and her two bosoms, while her tresses gracefully cascade down a gentle slope, mirroring the flow of her spirit away from her earthly form ✨

🔍 José Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonzo Realonda or Jose Rizal is our country's national hero. He was born and raised in the city of Calamba. He was a patriot, physician, and the inspiration for the nation.
🔍 Known for his works “𝐍𝐨𝐥𝐢 𝐌𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐞“ and “𝐄𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐨“ which established his reputation of being the leading spokesman of the Philippine reform movement, Jose Rizal, after becoming a doctor, became committed to reforming the Spanish rule over our country.
🔍 In 1892, when he returned to Manila after studying abroad, he established a peaceful, non-violent reform society called “𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚”. Which advocated for a better relationship between Spain and the Philippines. Threatened by this, the Spaniards deported him to Dapitan in northwest Mindanao where he remained for the next 4 years.
🔍 Born on June 19, 1861, José Rizal grew up in an original two-story Spanish colonial house in Calamba, Laguna. During WWII, Rizal's original house was destroyed, but was rebuilt at the same site on June 19, 1950.
