We are slowly picking up the pieces at our farm despite the ongoing aftershocks and draught. Our herd of goats is thriving. Farming is always a struggle but rewarding.

Although we lost 5 very young kids at the start of the year, our herd of goats is still thriving. They used to explore just with in the 5 hectare property, but they became adventurous with young ones following the leader and explored beyond our borders, we have to keep them in their enclosure for safety. Soon, Ronalyn, our farm caretaker will ran out of names.

Due to the rising cost of hollow blocks and limited supply, plus the quality of hollow blocks is diminishing, we decided to make our own for our own consumption. The quality of our own made hollow blocks is very high. Our rich mixture as I had evaluated before will produce at least a compressive strength of 20-22 MPa. The hollow blocks are tough and durable indeed. Our first experimental mix produced at least 10kg weight per hollowblock.

Despite of the setbacks, the pain, the worries, the losses, and the betrayal, I have to keep going. Our farm is my inspiration. Although there is too much work to be done and it emotionally and financially drains me, it motivates me to keep going. I am not losing hope and one day, in God’s will, I will harvest the fruits of my sacrifices. And I pray I won’t suffer any more of betrayal of trust. At least ako lumalaban ng patas, I can proudly brag that wala akong ginamit na mga tao para lang maging comfortable ako.
