The Hagpatan Eco-Guiding Organization (HEGO) has officially submitted its commitment for the year 2024 to the Barangay Local Government Unit of Bayyo earlier this month. As part of its dedication to sustainable tourism and community development, all members of the organization have pledged a portion of their individual guiding fees to be disbursed to the barangay at the end of each year. This initiative aims to contribute to the welfare of the community and support local conservation efforts.
In collaboration with the BLGU-Bayyo, HEGO played a significant role in the finalization of the barangay's Tourism Ordinance last year. The ordinance prioritizes the protection and preservation of local tourist destinations, ensuring that all tourism-related activities adhere to sustainable and responsible practices. As part of this agreement, the organization has been designated as the sole tour provider within its area of responsibility, guaranteeing that eco-tourism operations align with established environmental and cultural preservation standards.
Furthermore, in accordance with prior verbal agreements, HEGO reaffirms its commitment to assisting in the maintenance of trails within the barangay. This effort is essential in preserving the accessibility and safety of these pathways for both tourists and locals while minimizing environmental impact.
HEGO remains steadfast in its mission to promote eco-tourism, support local livelihoods, and protect the natural and cultural heritage of Bayyo. The organization looks forward to continued collaboration with the local government and stakeholders in ensuring a sustainable and thriving tourism industry for future generations.
