In the underwater world, you don’t have to be the largest creature to be the biggest threat. The stonefish, which reaches an average length of 30 to 40 centimetres and up to 2 kg / 5 lbs in weight, is the most venomous fish in the world having venomous sacs on each one of its 13 spines. Their venom is very toxic and can kill a human being if left untreated. The poision is also extremely painful.
This actual photo by us shows a stonefish in heavy camouflage inside a seawater aquarium. They change colors depending on their environment, and they use that to hide from larger predators and to preys as well for a suprise attack.
A stonefish is very very hard to spot in the water. They're either hiding in coral crevices, half buried in sea floors, or behind a rock. Or they can be found also on beaches as Stonefish are known to be able to stay out of water for a whopping 24 hours! Most cases of stonefish stings are in Australia.
We strongly advise our guests to be wary of these creatures.
DO NOT STEP ON ANY ROCKS and CORALS. They might be there. It is also forbidden to step on any coral, living or dead because its also the number 1 rule when you're in sea.
When diving, stay away from crevices, rocks and corals so that you wont disturb any creatures living there. Maintain a safe distance when taking pictures of corals.
Respect the rules of the sea.
Pick up trash on the go.
