Central Mindanao University warmly welcomed the visitors from Komatsu Philippines Corporation for a campus tour around CMU, giving them the opportunity to explore and appreciate the university’s scenic environment, rich greenery, and academic atmosphere.

As part of their visit, the group made a stop at the University Fernery, where they were able to experience one of CMU’s unique environmental and botanical attractions that highlights the university’s commitment to biodiversity conservation, research, and sustainable tourism.

The Tourism Unit successfully conducted a “Pulot Kalat” activity at the View Deck in support of environmental conservation and responsible tourism.

Together with volunteers and Tourism Unit staff, participants promoted cleanliness, proper waste management, and environmental awareness to help preserve the beauty of the area for future generations.

May 13–14, 2026 | Benchmarking Activity

Central Mindanao University warmly welcomed the delegation from Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) for their benchmarking activity held on May 13–14, 2026. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration, exchange best practices, and gather valuable insights from CMU’s exemplary programs, governance, academic processes, student services, and institutional development.

The activity served as an avenue for meaningful learning, professional growth, and academic collaboration between the two institutions. Through this benchmarking engagement, the delegation was able to observe and learn from various offices and programs that contribute to the university’s excellence and continuous development.

Celebrating culture, heritage, and tourism through learning and experience.

The Fiesta ng Nayon 2026 served as the final output activity of the 1st Year Hospitality Management students — Sections 1A, 1B, and 1C for the subject Philippine Culture, Tourism, and Geography (HM52). Held at the historic Z. Montemayor Heritage House, the event highlighted the beauty of Filipino traditions, local tourism, and cultural heritage through interactive exhibits, presentations, and fiesta-inspired attractions that reflected the richness and diversity of the Philippines.

Known as the residence of the first University President of Central Mindanao University, the Montemayor Heritage House stands as one of the university’s important historical landmarks. Beyond its architectural value, the house carries a significant part of CMU’s history and heritage, making it a meaningful venue for a cultural and tourism-inspired celebration.

More than just a classroom requirement, the activity became an immersive cultural and tourism experience that allowed students to showcase their creativity, hospitality, and appreciation for Filipino heritage while promoting the importance of preserving historical landmarks and cultural identity for future generations.

Pulot Kalat Activity | May 10, 2026

As part of its commitment to environmental conservation and responsible tourism, the Tourism Unit successfully conducted a “Pulot Kalat” activity at Musuan Peak.

The activity was participated in by:

Educational Visit | April 23 & 27, 2026

A meaningful step into history. The Hospitality Management 1A, 1B, and 1C students of Central Mindanao University conducted an educational tour to the Z. Montemayor Heritage House as part of their Philippine Culture, Tourism, and Geography subject.

As the first group to visit the heritage house, they explored its preserved structure, rich history, and the inspiring story of Central Mindanao University Inside, they discovered old photographs capturing past university events and places, offering a glimpse into the institution’s legacy.

Through this experience, they gained a deeper appreciation of culture, heritage, and the importance of preserving history for future generations.
