The city comes alive with color and excitement as it ushers in the Year of the Snake🐍 with a grand Chinese New Year celebration featuring the traditional lion and dragon dances at SM City Cabanatuan and SM Megacenter on January 29, 2025.

Deep rooted in Chinese culture, these dynamic performances are believed to bring good fortune, prosperity, and protection against negative energy. The rhythmic beating of drums and the synchronized movements of skilled performers captivate audiences, creating an electrifying atmosphere that embodies the spirit of renewal and unity.

Beyond its dazzling display, Cabanatuan's Chinese New Year celebration reflects the city’s rich cultural diversity and deep appreciation for time-honored traditions. The festivities unite families and communities, reinforcing values of harmony, gratitude, and shared prosperity.

Marvin Mauro Magtoto said that communities come together to celebrate, the lion and dragon dances serve as a reminder of shared values and the collective hope for a prosperous year ahead.

“We wish everyone a prosperous year, joy, happiness, and endless opportunity this year,” Magtoto said.

As the city embraces the Year of the Snake, known for wisdom and transformation, the lion and dragon dances serve as a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and the collective aspiration for a bountiful year ahead.

Named posthumously National Artist of the Philippines in Music🎼🎹🎶🎵 in 1997, Maestro Felipe Padilla De Leon👨🏻 was a classical music composer, arranger and a multiawarded conductor. He was born on 1 May 1912 in the town of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija🐃🌾🇵🇭. He died on December 5, 1992.

The old town hall of the municipality of Bongabon, Nueva Ecija🐃🌾 is currently being renovated to become the first museum in said town which is regarded as the “Onion Capital of the Philippines🇵🇭”.

The first part of the renovation of Museo de Bongabon has been completed. It is expected to be formally inaugurated and opened to the public in April 2025.
