Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) launched its inaugural ManilaโPalau (MNLโROR) flight on Sunday (Mar. 29), marking a significant step in strengthening direct air connectivity between the Philippines and the Pacific Islands.
The maiden flight departed Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10:15 p.m. and arrived in Koror at 2:00 a.m. local time the following day. Meanwhile, the return inaugural RORโMNL flight departed Koror on Monday (Mar. 30) at 3:10 a.m. local time and arrived in Manila at 4:55 a.m.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) backed the launch of the direct ManilaโPalau service, emphasizing that improved air connectivity is expected to boost tourism exchanges, facilitate business-to-business flows, and deepen cultural ties between the Philippines and Palau.
The ManilaโPalau route will operate twice weekly, with flights departing Manila every Wednesday and Sunday. Meanwhile, return flights are scheduled every Monday and Thursday.
The service is operated using PALโs modern 199-seater dual-class Airbus A321ceo, designed to provide passenger comfort and convenience.
