IO: What Connections Do You Have to Your Home Country?

The consular officer wants to be sure that you will return home and not overstay. Kaya mahalagang ipakita ang matibay mong connection sa Pilipinas. Here are some strong ties you can highlight:

Family Ties (Pamilya at Responsibilidad) – Kung may asawa, anak, o matatandang magulang na umaasa sa iyo, malaking factor ito para sa consul. Ipakita na ikaw ay may pananagutan sa kanila at kailangang bumalik sa Pilipinas.

Stable Job or Business (Trabaho o Negosyo) – Ang matagal nang trabaho sa isang kumpanya o pagmamay-ari ng negosyo ay patunay na ikaw ay may financial stability at may babalikan kang hanapbuhay. Mas mainam kung may COE (Certificate of Employment) o business permits to support this claim.

Property Ownership or Long-Term Leases (Ari-arian o Matagalang Paupahang Bahay) – Kung may bahay, lupa, o matagal nang inuupahang tirahan, ito ay nagpapakita na ikaw ay may matibay na pundasyon sa Pilipinas at walang balak manatili sa ibang bansa.

Ongoing Studies or Community Involvement (Pag-aaral o Partisipasyon sa Komunidad) – Kung ikaw ay kasalukuyang nag-aaral o aktibong miyembro ng isang organisasyon, ipakita ito sa consul. It proves na may dahilan kang bumalik dahil may ongoing commitments ka sa bansa.

Sa madaling salita, the goal is to show that you have enough reasons to return home and that your visit to the US is purely for travel or business. The stronger your ties, the better your chances of approval.

To ease congestion at the country's main gateway, New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC) has announced the following terminal reassignment:

Terminal 1: Exclusive to Philippine Airlines (PAL)
Terminal 2: Domestic flights for PAL & Cebu Pacific
Terminal 3: International carriers
Terminal 4: AirAsia flights

AirAsia to be stricter with carry-on luggage

MANILA -- AirAsia said it will be stricter when it comes to implementing rules on carry-on baggage

In a statement, the low-cost carrier said each passenger is only allowed 7 kilograms--composed of 1 cabin baggage and 1 small personal item--on board.

The cabin baggage must be either a trolley bag or a backpack with a maximum dimension of 56 cm height, 36 cm width, and 23 cm (diameter) and must fit in the overhead storage compartment.

Meanwhile, the personal item may be a handbag or laptop bag with a maximum dimension of 40 cm height, 30 cm width, and 10 cm diameter, and must fit under the seat in front of the traveler.

Multiple items strapped, wrapped, or tied together are not counted as one piece, AirAsia said.

The airline also stressed that all items purchased at the airport form part of the cabin baggage allowance, and only duty-free items packed in a Security Tamper-Evident Bag (STEB) are exempt from cabin baggage allowance.

Any cabin baggage exceeding weight or size limits must be checked in, AirAsia said.

The budget liner said the baggage policy is expected to help flights leave on time, and make the boarding and disembarking processes smoother.

"Compliance also ensures fair access to overhead compartments for all guests, maintaining both safety and comfort,” AirAsia Communications and Public Affairs Head & First Officer Steve Dailisan said

NAIA TERMINAL 5??
NEW AIRPORT TERMINAL COMING SOON… 🇵🇭

SMC's Ramon Ang said that the winning NAIA privatization consortium will build a new passenger terminal building with 50 boarding bridges at the site of the mothballed Philippine Village Hotel. According to Ang, the new terminal will have a capacity of 35 million passengers annually. Offices at existing NAIA terminal buildings will be asked to transfer to this new facility once constructed.
