Mt. Pulag is one of those bucket-list hikes that feels almost magical, especially when you catch the sea of clouds at sunrise. The journey itself is an adventure—whether you're taking the easier Ambangeg Trail or challenging yourself with the Akiki Trail.

What makes it special isn’t just the view but also the diversity of the landscape—pine forests, mossy forests, and the vast grassland summit. It’s surreal to walk through these different ecosystems in a single trek. The cold temperature adds to the experience, making it feel like a completely different world compared to the tropical climate in the lowlands.

That said, it’s a place that commands respect. The weather can be unpredictable, and if you're not prepared, the cold can be harsh. Also, as a sacred site for the Ibaloi, Kalanguya, and Kankanaey tribes, it’s important to hike responsibly and honor local traditions.

Mount Pulag is the third-highest mountain in the Philippines and the highest peak in Luzon, standing at 2,928 meters (9,606 feet) above sea level. It's a popular hiking destination, known for its sea of clouds, breathtaking sunrise, and diverse ecosystems. The mountain is home to pine forests, mossy forests, and grasslands, making it a unique trekking experience.

Location: Borders of Benguet, Ifugao, and Nueva Vizcaya
Difficulty: Moderate (varies depending on the trail)
Best Time to Hike: November to February (cooler months, clearer skies)
Permit Required: Yes, issued by DENR in Benguet
Temperature: Can drop to 0°C or lower at the summit, especially during the early morning
