The Central Luzon Tour Guides Association (CLTGA) proudly congratulates Carlo Virano for successfully completing the 2026 CCP Kaisa sa Sining Apprenticeship Program held in the City of Tagum Historical and Cultural Center.

Carlo's journey is a testament to what it truly means to be a cultural worker. Beyond being an outstanding tour guide, he continues to excel as a choreographer, director, and production manager, embracing every opportunity to learn, create, and inspire. BOTOLAN, ZAMBALES — Aspiring eco tour guides from Botolan and San Narciso took part in an Eco Tour Guiding Training aimed at strengthening local tourism services and promoting responsible travel in Zambales.

The training was designed to equip local tourism frontliners with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed to guide visitors while helping protect the province’s natural and cultural heritage.

Experts from the Department of Tourism Region III facilitated the activity in partnership with the Provincial Tourism and Investment Promotions Office.

Participants were trained on essential competencies for delivering meaningful, safe, and environmentally responsible visitor experiences, especially in ecotourism destinations.

The program also emphasized the role of local guides as tourism ambassadors who help shape the experience of visitors while encouraging respect for the environment, local communities, and cultural sites.

The activity was attended by Supervising Tourism Operations Officer Kevin L. Nacabuan and Botolan Sangguniang Bayan Member Angel B. Diesta, who expressed support for developing capable and responsible tourism professionals in the province.

The Provincial Tourism and Investment Promotions Office also thanked Mayor Jun Omar C. Ebdane and the Municipal Tourism Office of Botolan, led by Gennesy D. Villar, for hosting the training and supporting ecotourism development.

Officials said the initiative forms part of continuing efforts to strengthen sustainable tourism in Zambales by empowering local communities and improving the quality of visitor services.

As the province continues to promote its beaches, mountains, rivers, and other natural attractions, trained eco tour guides are expected to play an important role in balancing tourism growth with environmental protection.

The program also supports livelihood opportunities for residents while encouraging communities to become active stewards of nature, culture, and authentic local tourism experiences.

DOT-Region III shares the recognition received by Regional Director, Dr. Richard G. Daenos during the 3rd Philippine LEAF Awards held on 21 May 2026 at the Porac Municipal Sports and Cultural Center Gymnasium in Porac, Pampanga.

RD Daenos was conferred the Distinguished Cultural Stewardship & Visionary Leadership Award in recognition of his leadership and support for cultural preservation, heritage promotion, and tourism development initiatives in Central Luzon.

The recognition reflects the continued commitment of DOT Region III to promote and preserve the region’s cultural heritage while advancing sustainable and community-based tourism development.

The Philippine LEAF Awards celebrates exceptional Filipino artists in live entertainment, fashion, and festivals. Its 2026 edition, titled “Tertulia at Parangal sa Porac,” marked the first time the awards ceremony was conducted outside Metro Manila, taking place in Porac, Pampanga and honoring cultural properties in Luzon alongside outstanding creatives and cultural advocates.
