Japan just hit internet speeds so fast, it could download all of Netflix in one second 🤯

A team of engineers there reached 1.02 petabits per second, which is over a million gigabits every second. To put it simply, that’s 3.5 million times faster than the average internet speed in the US.

And the best part? They did it using fiber cables similar to the ones we already use.

WOW ITS AMAZING 👏

This house doesn’t shake during an earthquake — it floats.

In earthquake-prone Japan, a groundbreaking invention is quite literally lifting hopes for safer homes.

Air Danshin Systems Inc., founded by inventor Shoichi Sakamoto, has developed a unique seismic isolation system that levitates buildings during earthquakes.

When seismic sensors detect ground movement, compressed air is released beneath the house, lifting it up to 3 centimeters—just enough to prevent violent shaking. Within half a second, the home is hovering safely above the ground until the tremors stop, after which it gently returns to its original position.

Already installed in nearly 90 homes and buildings across Japan, the Air Danshin system is proving both effective and affordable—costing about a third of traditional seismic protection systems.

It runs independently of the power grid, with battery backups to ensure operation during blackouts. While experts caution that larger, multi-directional quakes might test the limits of the system, live demonstrations show promising results: fully furnished homes ride out simulated quakes with wine glasses untouched. With crowdfunding underway, this floating house technology could soon offer dynamic earthquake protection far beyond Japan.

San Juanico Bridge is the longest bridge in the Philippines spanning a body of seawater, stretching approximately 2.16 kilometers across the San Juanico Strait. It connects the islands of Samar and Leyte, making it an essential link between the provinces. Its engineering marvel alone attracts many visitors, who marvel at the elegant S-shaped curve that gracefully arches over the bright blue waters.

The bridge is a popular destination not only for its functional purpose but also for the scenic views it offers. Tourists and photographers flock to capture panoramic shots of the strait, the nearby islands, and the ever-changing colors of sunrise and sunset. The tranquil surroundings and cool sea breeze create an inviting atmosphere for leisurely walks or sightseeing drives.

Beyond its architectural beauty, San Juanico Bridge holds historical significance. It was inaugurated in 1973 during the Marcos era and became a symbol of progress and connection between regions that were once separated by challenging waterways. Many locals and travelers see it as an emblem of unity and development in Eastern Visayas.

Today, the bridge is also part of local tourism campaigns and cultural heritage tours. Visitors often stop to experience its grandeur firsthand, buy souvenirs at nearby stalls, and learn about the stories behind its construction. Its blend of history, engineering, and natural beauty makes San Juanico Bridge a must-see landmark for anyone traveling to the region.

San Juanico Bridge is considered a top tourist attraction because of its remarkable engineering and scenic beauty. Stretching 2.16 kilometers, it is the longest bridge in the Philippines that spans a body of seawater, connecting the islands of Leyte and Samar. Tourists are drawn not just by its impressive length, but also by its elegant, S-shaped structure that gracefully arches over the San Juanico Strait, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding seascape.

Beyond its architectural significance, the bridge offers a unique cultural and historical experience. Constructed during the Marcos era, it symbolizes not only physical connection but also the political and social narratives of the Philippines. Over time, it has transformed from a utilitarian structure into a beloved landmark where locals and visitors alike can walk, bike, or take photos while enjoying the sea breeze and panoramic views.

The bridge is especially captivating during sunrise and sunset, when the sky casts vibrant hues over the water. It is also illuminated at night, turning into a romantic spectacle of lights. ✈️ NAIA TERMINAL SHAKE-UP AHEAD AS NEW HUB RISES! 🏗️🇵🇭

New Terminal to Handle 35M Passengers; Reassignments Coming Soon

Big changes are coming to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as a new terminal is set to rise at the old Philippine Village Hotel site. This future Terminal 5 will add capacity for 35 million passengers yearly, helping decongest the country’s busiest airport.

🔁 Terminal Reassignments Ahead:
• Terminal 1: International flights by low-cost carriers
• Terminal 3: International flights by major airlines
• Terminals 2 & 5: For domestic flights

MIAA General Manager Eric Ines says these changes will help streamline operations but hasn’t given an exact rollout date yet.

🛠️ Meanwhile, improvements by New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) are ongoing:
• Demolition at the new terminal site has started
• Fixing restrooms and seating
• Upgrading air-conditioning and internet
• Improving baggage handling, X-rays, escalators, and parking (1,800 new slots freed!)

📈 NAIA welcomed a record 50.1 million passengers in 2024, far exceeding its current 35-million capacity.
