Barangay Activity Corner:
The Municipality of Poro, all the Barangays officials, and DepEd personnel joined to the one of the most significant dates in Philippines’ history.

This year’s theme is “Kalayaan 2017: Pagbabagong Sama-Samang Balikatin.”

Let us look back and celebrate the nation’s independence from decades of Spanish rule. Philippine independence was formally proclaimed on June 12, 1898, with the reading of the Proclamation of Independence in Kawit, Cavite. The Proclamation was prepared and read by Ambrosio Rianzares Bautista and was signed by 98 delegates, including General Emilio Aguinaldo.

One of the reasons why it should be celebrated, it brings honor and love to those who spent their lives (heroes) seeking to end the abuses of Spain such as mutilation, gruesome death punishment, r***d Filipino women, maltreatment, etc.

Remembering the past and origin of our history is a worthwhile task in order to renew and embrace our culture, heritage, tradition, resources and its people. It gives us a sense of pride and awareness of what we are. This occasion is a reminder of our glorious past, for it brings to mind the rich culture, beauty, potential and wonders of our beloved barangay.

BARANGAY SPORTS CORNER:

Champions are made when potentiality is converted into performance.

Professionalism in sports and games are very much in demand. In order to train the community and promote healthy completion, sports and games are conducted every year in preparation for our fiesta celebration in honor of Señor San Meguil Archngel.
